Catenon is seeking an experienced, visionary and commercially astute Director of Sales to lead the Sales and Events function of a luxury lifestyle resort in Ibiza.
Reporting to the General Manager & Regional Director of Sales (Europe), the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to be part of a pre-opening leadership team and lay the commercial foundations for a world-class resort.
- Responsible for designing and executing pre-opening sales action plans.
- Directly shape how the resort enters the market, attracts its first guests, and builds lasting relationships.
- Craft and execute strategic sales initiatives that position the resort as Ibiza’s premier destination for wellness travel, exclusive events, and luxury leisure.
- Design and implement innovative sales strategies targeting wellness tourism, luxury leisure, boutique MICE, and high-end event segments.
- Analyze market trends, seasonal shifts, and competitor activity to maximize market share and relevance.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead the Sales & Events team, setting clear KPIs and providing regular coaching and professional development.
- Drive a performance culture rooted in innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity.
- Implement succession planning and learning pathways to support long-term team and departmental growth.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-value leisure, wellness, and corporate clients, as well as DMCs and travel designers.
- Lead RFP negotiations and contracting processes using systems such as Delphi, Cvent, and Lanyon.
- Ensure delivery of exceptional service through proactive engagement and customized solutions for VIPs, group organizers, and retreat planners.
- Develop visibility and revenue from the ground up, aligning with the brand’s commitment to sustainability, wellbeing, and exceptional guest experience.
- Partner with Revenue and Marketing teams to drive optimized pricing, occupancy, and yield strategies.
- Maintain and oversee the demand calendar, aligning sales efforts with forecasted need periods.
- Ensure consistent and accurate use of CRM platforms, reporting tools, and sales systems to measure performance and streamline operations.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in luxury hospitality sales, with demonstrated success in launching or repositioning high-end resorts.
- Expertise in wellness tourism, lifestyle brands, and sustainable luxury.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Desirable: Proficient in Delphi, Opera, Lanyon, Cvent.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; additional language skills are advantageous.
