CATENON is currently seeking to incorporate a Project Developer with availability to work in Madrid and Austin (USA) for our client, a Spanish company focused on the promotion and development of energy projects.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and supervise the development of projects carried out by oneself or other developers within the company, ensuring that projects reach the Ready To Build stage.
Collaborate with different local teams in order to:
• Create and periodically review a realistic schedule for permits and other milestones in the project development phase.
• Establish a development budget and plan and oversee work carried out by external consultants and collaborators.
• Develop individualized development strategies for each project.
• Manage risks throughout the development phase to proactively ensure a viable and market-attractive project.
• Maintain and cultivate strong working relationships with the Uriel Renewables team at each location, as well as with local development partners and other project stakeholders such as local authorities and communities.
• Provide support in acquiring new projects during the negotiation and due diligence phase.
• Stay updated on applicable legislation in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and various Caribbean Islands, which is the region where the projects under this position are being developed.
Required Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a similar field.
- At least 2-4 years of experience working in project development within the renewable energy sector.
- Solid and proven experience in wind/solar photovoltaic or storage energy project development.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and legal frameworks applicable to renewable energy projects. Knowledge of regulations in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and several Caribbean islands is a plus.
- Results-oriented mindset and team player.
- Ability to plan and problem-solve.
- Ability to build relationships, given the ever-changing conditions in the project development phase and the need to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Availability to travel to Austin on a regular basis is a must.
