For our client, a leading company in the renewable energy sector, we are seeking a Business Unit Director to be responsible for leading and managing the strategy, growth, and operations of the Data Centers business unit. The main objective of this position will be to drive the development of the company's current project portfolio, from permitting to construction, marketing, and operation, ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction. Our client manages a portfolio of 23 assets, up to 400MW IT in Spain.
Responsibilities:
Business Development:
• Define and execute the global strategy for the business unit in alignment with the company's objectives.
• Identify growth and expansion opportunities in the data center market, analyzing new locations, competitors, and industry trends.
• Establish strong relationships with customers, partners, and key suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure long-term success.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in data center technology, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of data centers.
Financial and Budget Management:
• Develop and oversee the budget for data centers, ensuring efficient use of financial resources.
• Provide reporting and management documentation for investor partners.
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial reports to assess data center performance and make informed decisions.
• Identify areas for improvement and efficiency opportunities to maximize profitability and return on investment.
Strategy and Leadership:
• Supervise the development and permitting of existing projects, ensuring proper execution to achieve Ready to Build status.
• Oversee the construction, marketing, and operation of new data centers, ensuring availability and reliability of data center services.
• Implement and maintain best practices in energy management.
• Manage the existing team and hire additional team members as needed.
• Report to the company's General Director.
Requirements:
• Over 15 years of experience in similar positions in the data center industry.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power supply systems, cooling, networks, and security.
• Deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies, such as cloud computing, virtualization, IoT, and data center marketing.
• Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and creating a motivating and collaborative work environment.
• High level of English proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, strategic vision, and communication skills.
