Functional Arquitect- Train Interiors Within our client´s Rolling Stock projects you will be responsible for designing the control system and subsystem interactions ensuring that the customer requirements are met. As such you will be involved in all activities necessary to define the top-down functionality of one of the functional blocks of a major project, structured according to EN15380-4. In addition to defining functionality (downstream the “V” model) you will also define the validation scenarios and test cases (upstream the “V” model) of your specific functional block. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITIES: • Developing functional train architectures, concepts and design solutions. • Acting as a technical internal interface between all departments including engineering, quality, testing and production. • Creating the Operational Concept of your functional block. • Allocating functional requirements of the RBS (Requirement Breakdown Structure) to the Functional Breakdown Structure. • Allocating the result of the functional decomposition to the subsystems. • Output of refined functional requirements and interfaces for subsystems. • Defining the physical (electrical) and logical interfaces for subsystems. • Defining the test scenarios for the different test environments according to the functional definition performed. • Scrutinize and modify functional design through simulation via Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) • Monitor progress of project reporting on architectures, development and validation, KPIs and risks. • Ensuring that decisions are made in accordance with the agreed timelines and coordinating with all relevant departments. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor or Master Degree in Automation / Control Engineering or Engineering. High level of English. Any other languages would be a plus such as French or Spanish. A minimum of 3 years in railway sector in Systems functional definition, using EN15380 top-down approach. Proficient in MBSE techniques and tools (Magic Draw, RFLP etc.) Ability to work well on complex projects with other teams on projects. Adaptability to a fast-evolving environment A high level of attention to detail and adhering to defined methodology and instructions. French and Spanish are very favorably considered. Available to travel to HQ for an initial training program.
