Providing legal advice at a senior level to achieve its commercial purposes by providing proactive, expert and commercially oriented legal advice on: general finance, day to day questions that arises at the branch, corporate capacity documents, and French governed legal claims. Ensure that the Branch meets all applicable legal and regulatory obligations (other than those overseen by the Branch’s compliance officer) as a Branch in France including the scope and application of the applicable passport license to the Branch. Drafting, negotiating, reviewing and updating legal documents. Participate from the French legal perspective in the development of new banking products for the Branch. This includes working and giving support not only to the proper Branch but also with other departments. Participate from the French legal perspective in projects in which the Branch is engaged and the company’s group, from time to time. Provide France in governed advice to certain activities of the financial institution in Spain. Ensure that the Branch engages appropriate external advisers when required, that Branch’s external advisers are effectively engaged and oversee the quality and cost of the provision of the services to the Branch and generally oversee the management of the relationships with external advisers. Giving support to the company’s Litigation department on French governed litigation matters (court requests, etc…), business related complaints and inquiries related to legal matters. Give support and advice when necessary to the branch’s Compliance officer and Compliance Department from the perspective of the business legal assessment. Providing internal training sessions to the commercial team on the various products and updates in law when necessary. REQUIREMENTS Qualification/Degree in French Law. Solid and extensive knowledge of civil and commercial French law, substantially in banking finance. Minimum 3 to 5 years solid experience in a legal department of a recognised financial entity or a law firm. Microsoft Office tools required: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point. Availability for an annual Business travel to Barcelona to attend Legal meetings. Languages (apart from French): English & Spanish.
