Position Profile Reporting to the Director of the Toronto Representative Office, he or she will be responsible for performing the commercial and administrative support required for the trade finance business that the bank carries out in the Canadian market Main Job Responsibilities: • Support the trade finance business of the Bank in the Canadian market with a full range of products, inclusive of: Trade Finance/Letter of Credit, Import Letter of Credit, Import Documentary Collection, Export Letter of Credit, Export Documentary Collection, Standby Letter of Credit • Support the bank in its efforts to identify, and win new Trade Finance opportunities; • Support Head Office processes and procedures related to international trade transactions including, but not limited to: coordination with Legal, Credit, Risk, Operations and Finance; control portfolio of transactions. • To monitor and keeping up to date the KYCs with the Bank’s corresponding banks. • Maintain and develop commercial relationship with the correspondent bank’s network of the Bank, with support and guidance from the Relationship Managers. • Contact with the commercial network in Spain and rest of International Network to promote new business and capture more opportunities • Support to the management of the Toronto Rep Office and Head Office for: Preparation and submission of Trade Finance reports, Commercial pitches, internal presentations. • Regular collaboration with Corporate & Institutional Banking Sales Officers and client Relationship Managers (“RMs”) at the Mid-sized companies’ business unit, as well as with clients in order to identify specific trade finance needs. Regular coordination with Business Origination Units, Credit Divisions and Operations units to ensure the successful execution of trade related transactions. • Manage the daily/weekly/monthly reporting and monitoring responsibilities that are required of the Middle Office, including Expenditures control, reconciliation of expenses and current accounts and provide analytical support • Ensure policies and procedures are followed properly and are updated as needed Work Experience & Requirements • 3-5 years relevant work experience; credit and/or trade finance experience preferred, in the field of Trade Finance products working in financial institutions; • Excellent client services skills; • Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently. • Strong organization skills, detail oriented and the ability to complete tasks effectively and in a timely manner; • Proven ability to use the Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Excel, MS Word • In addition, the candidate must exhibit: Strong organizational skills. The ability work seamlessly in a multi-cultural environment. Education: college degree in banking/finance. Languages: native or proficiency in English and fluency in Spanish
