Position Summary:
The High Voltage Substation Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating all activities related to the design, implementation, and maintenance of high voltage substations. This role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in a similar role, proven ability to coordinate work teams, advanced knowledge of protection systems, and secondary system design (protection and measurement). Additionally, proficiency in English is essential for international projects, specifically in Australia.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership and Management:
- Coordinate and supervise the team of engineers and technicians in executing high voltage substation projects.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, ensuring professional development of team members
- Assign tasks and responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback
2. Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Oversee all project phases, from conceptualization and design to implementation and commissioning.
- Ensure quality and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
3. Technical Design and Analysis:
- Conduct technical studies and analyses for the design and optimization of high voltage substations.
- Review and approve plans, technical specifications, and other project-related documents.
- Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to ensure efficient integration of components and systems.
- Design secondary protection and measurement systems, ensuring proper selection and configuration of protection devices and measuring equipment.
4. Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Implement safe work practices and promote a safety culture within the team.
- Stay updated on changes in industry regulations and standards.
5. Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare technical and financial reports for senior management and other stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, and other departments within the organization.
- Resolve issues and conflicts that may arise during project development.
- Use English as the primary language for communication in international projects, specifically in Australia.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably in high voltage substation projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating multidisciplinary work teams.
- Strong knowledge of the design, construction, and maintenance of high voltage substations.
- Advanced knowledge of protection systems and secondary system design (protection and measurement).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Advanced knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for project development in Australia.
- Proficiency in design and project management software.
