Key Responsibilities This position’s core responsibilities include: • Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to actively contribute to the development of the overall strategy and business plan for the airline. • Play the leadership role in the development and syndication of the overall Company network and fleet strategy. • Lead the network planning function for the airline, with a specific focus on market planning, long-range planning, mid-range planning, and scheduling. • Ensure that Company anticipates, identifies and acts on important market opportunities and that it responds appropriately to competitive actions through corrective measures in a timely fashion. • Provide strong and inspired leadership and mentoring to a team of highly skilled executives, developing high-potential individuals for succession or rotation to other areas of the airline. • Responsible for challenging the status quo while identifying and implementing new business opportunities for profit generation, such as the creation of a connecting hub in several bases/hubs and creation of cargo business. • Relation with other airlines in order to create a win-win partnership and alliances. • Improve agility in decision making, with a lighter organization, of lower levels and modern classification. • Reorder and clarify responsibilities, to promote the improvement of efficiency, productivity and cost savings. Near-Term Objectives. This position’s near-term objectives include: • Gain direct reports appreciation, admiration, and respect to effectively lead and direct the strategy and commercial business development and network planning of the airline and serve as one of the top executives. • Build a healthy, trust-based relationship with the CEO, directors peers, allowing for open, transparent and collaborative efforts on all parts; attain the respect of the same parties through hard-work, placing the Company and stakeholder interests ahead of self, through determination, motivation, presentation, and communication. • Secure an appreciation of the Company culture and focus intensely on understanding how to work, communicate and manage within the culture effectively. • Build a strong company image, respect, and reputation with our customers. • Develop sustainable and profitable growth by selecting the correct markets for Company • Create new competitive advantages with new revenue streams or more effective ways of doing more with less • Establish and develop partnerships and alliances with other airlines or players in the airline industry to increase either the revenues, profit or reducing costs. • Ensure and challenge the company for new ways of increasing efficiency by leading several initiatives for increasing revenues and/or reducing costs. Experience & Education Ideal Experience • A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in the airline sector or strategic consulting role with airline exposure, with at least five years at the directive level • Has shown himself or herself to be a creative and innovative individual, capable of driving an organization in new directions, free from the shackles of traditional approaches • A demonstrated track record of successfully developing and implementing corporate and commercial strategies in an airline context. • A strong people’s manager with proven experience managing a larger team • A quick thinker confident with numbers and focused on execution Education • Diploma from a reputable university
