Local Finance organization a) Managerial responsibility for all local finance staff b) Staffing/recruiting; back-up and contingency planning c) Staff training and development 2. Financial governance a) Accounting (local GAAP-IFRS) and financial reporting (internal and external) b) Revenue recognition according to IFRS & Group’s standards c) Opex and expense control, including approval processes d) Balance sheet and working capital management e) Capital expenditure control, including financial assessment of store opening/closure requests f) Financial systems and transaction management with focus on achieving a high level of automation g) Tax (Import duties, CIT, VAT/GST, WHT and other taxes) h) Treasury matters (local bank relationships, e-Banking processes) i) Insurance in connection with Group’s insurance broker j) Internal/external audit interaction 3. Business support a) Business partner to Managing Director b) Planning, budgeting and forecasting c) Management reporting
d) Analysis and decision support to the management team e) Business accounting, including profit and cost center setup, sales and costs allocation to functions, etc. 4. Compliance a) Responsibility for the Internal Control System b) Compliance Champion unless assigned another function like HR 5. Other functional responsibilities Depending on the local organizational set-up, additional functions such as IT may also report to the GCC.
