FUNCTIONS

General Description and Role Overview: We are looking for an Investments and Valuation Associate, who is passionate about offshore wind technologies and enjoys the unique challenges of growing business in an emerging industry. The Associate will evaluate investment opportunities, strategic initiatives and projects’ economics with a particular emphasis on the creation and maintenance of financial models to support key decisions regarding the monitoring of projects in development, strategic decisions for market and corporate development initiatives, and the evaluation of acquisitions/divestments and partnerships. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Design, analyze, and create financial models for evaluating corporate development initiatives and project maturation. - Utilize Project Finance cash flow modeling techniques to assess business development, project economics, and portfolio optimization. - Lead the evaluation process of new investment opportunities from origination to execution. - Collaborate with external counterparts to evaluate, structure, and finance investments. - Develop PowerPoint presentations for project development, investment decision-making, and external communications. - Review and negotiate legal documents related to investments. - Build and maintain a network in the offshore wind energy sector to assess investment opportunities strategically and financially. REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: - 3-6 years of experience in offshore wind and/or renewable energy corporate finance and business development, preferably in roles within investment funds, advisory firms, or renewable energy companies. - Strong financial modeling skills in offshore wind, with consideration for experience in other renewable energy technologies. - Proficiency in negotiating project financing, M&A transactions, power purchase agreements, and/or EPC contracts. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES: - Relevant academic degree. - Familiarity with renewable energy/power sector economics and commercial risk management. - Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization. - Strong team player with integrity and collaborative skills. - Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to problem-solving. - Proactive with the ability to take initiative and deliver results in a dynamic environment. - Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of developing innovative solutions. OTHER SKILLS: -Languages: Fluent in English required (BlueFloat Energy’s working language); fluency in Spanish is desired, other languages are valuable. -Ability to work across cultures and with different geographies. -Status to work in Spain -Willingness to travel abroad to support responsibilities.
