Position summary: As General Manager, you will be responsible for all management and profitability of a property. Typically, a single incumbent position at the property level. Your role has the responsibility of the total performance of the property, implementing agreed for hotel strategies, ensuring the business has the correct focus to deliver the right level of profitability. We are seeking a Hotel General Manager who will lead a team of highly experienced senior executives including Director of Operations, Director of Finance, Director of Human Resources, and a Commercial Director. As a team, the ideal candidate will build and maintain a good public image for the hotel and achieve an 'esprit de corps' amongst team members. Tasks & Responsibilities: Strategy development: • Prepare the rolling strategic plan in line with the overall Hotel strategic plan. • Achieve continued revenue growth through innovation in services, product offerings and sales and marketing initiatives. • To develop and implement the agreed entertainment strategy for hotel. Leadership: • Provide effective leadership, management, training, motivation, and development of all team members in your reporting line. • Responsible for overseeing the entire hotel operation and commercial interests. • To promote a positive environment through participative management techniques as outlined in the hotel to maintain productivity levels. Revenue Management: • Lead revenue management of the hotel, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly revenue meetings are taking place. • Management the food and beverage area to maximize departmental sales and profits. • Optimize pricing strategies and inventory management. Budget & Forecasting Control: • Overall financial management of the entire business operations. This will include the preparation of budgets, key performance indicators, financial reporting, and capital expenditure to ensure effective cost control and profitability. • Forecast, monitor, and control wage costs. Marketing Strategy: • Lead and development oversee the hotel marketing strategy. Ethic and policies: • Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements and company policies. • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management. • To have a complete understanding of and ensure the team adhere to the hotel’s policy relating to fire, hygiene, health, and safety. Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications Required: • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Administration, Marketing, Tourism or Other areas • MBA Business or Finance or other areas (nice to have) • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in digital marketing and analytics tools. • Ability to think creatively and outside the box. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Knowledge of current industry trends and market conditions • Knowledge in Finance (Budget, Profitability) • Above 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry – Min 3 years’ experience as General Manager • English and Portuguese Native or Bilingual (mandatory) • Spanish Advanced (nice to have)
