FUNCTIONS
Our client, an Internation Group within the automotive sector is looking for a Accounting Manager who will be responsible for the company accounts under IFRS for consolidation purpose, as well as statutory accounts under Spanish GAAP, in consideration of applicable accounting framework.
Responsibilities:
• Strengthen the control environment across the business that supports the preparation of our group and statutory financial statements by managing in-country accounting teams and developing the best talent.
• Lead and coordinate the preparation of accounting reviews with key business partners to ensure accounts review completeness.
• Lead and coordinate consolidated accounts, statutory accounts and external audits globally to ensure consistency, reliability, efficiency and scalability of the accounting process-based organization.
• Being a subject matter expert and go-to person in complex technical accounting questions. Continuously evaluates, documents and communicates conclusions reached on IFRS and local GAAP treatments of business events.
• Oversight and development of the IFRS and local GAAP reportings for the company legal entity and business in scope, in close interaction with accounting and finance teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Proactive accounting representation on projects; this will involve active partnering with appropriate stakeholders in wider cross-functional and international teams for successful launch of projects, reporting requirements and change implementation.
• Drives continuous improvement, standardization, reengineering of processes and controls to ensure the highest integrity in group and statutory reporting.
Experience and Skills:
• 10 years of experience with an emphasis on auditing, accounting and overall financial statements analysis, preferably partly gained within one of the 'Big-four' and in an industrial company.
• Certified accountant qualification (CPA, ACA, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of IFRS, statutory filings and statutory audit requirements, with exposure to multiple accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP), as well as Spanish GAAP.
• Working understanding of an internal control framework and a solid understanding of the concepts of control design and operational efficiency.
• Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership and delivering results in a leadership role.
• Ability to work well with cross-functional, cross-geographic teams.
• Proven experience in leading teams; influencing and galvanizing others to follow you toward a solution.
• Track record of having earned the trust of leadership team by challenging norms, upgrading team performance, enabling growth and improving efficiency.
• Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
• Fluent English and Spanish is mandatory, other foreign languages are a plus.
