Are you looking for a new challenge?
Our customer, a well known multinational company within the chemical industry, is willing to join a new member to their Purchasing team!
As Category Buyer you will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager!
Your next challenge will be sourcing and purchasing a portfolio of raw materials and packaging materials for the Specialties Business Unit.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing raw materials and packaging for several specialty sites
- Seek and validate new and alternative sources and suppliers in Iberia, South-EU and further abroad.
- Follow the purchasing policy within your scope of responsibility
- Take initiatives and secure operational purchasing for the Specialties plants to keep production running smoothly.
- Ensure supply base is in line with our customer’s needs.
- Ensure good relationships are kept with suppliers worldwide.
- Analyze purchasing requirements for raw materials based on forecasted demands to be generated by Supply Chain Planning.
- Follow up market trends, visit fairs and carry out proper market research to define and implement best sourcing and purchasing strategy.
- Assist the Purchase Manager in developing Category purchase strategies and Category action plans by contributing data and information and act as sparring partner.
- Perform SHE audits and assessments where applicable (Safety-Health-Environment).
- Perform CSR audits and assessments where applicable (Corporate & Social Responsibility – Sustainable Purchasing).
- Prepare dossiers, organize the price offering process (RFI-RFQ), benchmarks and tenders.
- Negotiate best purchase prices and purchase conditions with domestic suppliers and suppliers abroad.
- Cooperate with other departments (product management, business development, production, supply chain, quality). Answer the needs of (internal) stakeholders and business partners in terms of functionality, quality, time and costs.
- Support the QA/QC Manager in case of complaints and claims related to purchased goods.
- Align purchasing actions with the plans of the Global Category manager(s) or other internal stakeholders.
- Participate in preparing the purchasing budget while the Purchasing Manager remains the end-responsible.
- Act as back-up for the other Category Buyer(s). Build a mutual supportive relationship with the Purchase organization.
- Identify the main issues and risks of a CSR and Environmental nature in its portfolio and integrate them into the development of purchasing strategies in order to advise its internal clients.
- Report to the Purchasing Manager through a set of KPIs in line with the general business objectives and personal purchasing objectives.
- Manage contracts under your responsibility, at the best cost
Qualifications
Key-Competencies: Negotiation skills - Strong analytical skills - Work in matrix organization and network - Ability to work result driven and independently
Profile:
- Experienced Bachelor or Young Master degree in Purchasing, Business Management, Operations Management or similar
- 3-6 years experience in Purchasing of raw materials and/or packaging gained in similar industries (feed additives, animal nutrition,pharmaceuticals, chemicals, spices, flavors, food)
- MS Office programs
- ERP is a plus (e.g. SAP / Exact / other)
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Available for traveling
- Located or willing to live in HUESCA- BARBASTRO - ZARAGOZA (must)
