FUNKTIONEN

Our Client, is looking for a Business Development Manager. Based at our Head Office in Cheltenham, you will be part of our Municipal Services team, strategically targeting new business, generating new leads by developing a pool of contacts using your own initiative. Main responsabilities: • Excellent knowledge and extensive experience of managing local authority waste management - street cleansing, refuse collection, Ground maintenance operations; • Ensuring that all tender responses are innovative, accurate, compliant, timely and professionally presented. • To be open-minded and business focused, with an organised and analytical approach to your work, including close attention to detail while working to tight deadlines and financial budgets; • Assisting with the collection, collation and recording of all statistical data for tender compilation, such as productivity ratings, margins and costs. • Keeping abreast of the current market conditions and competitor activity • Following- up and providing feedback on sales leads and tender opportunities • The development of all opportunities related to the growth strategy, with both existing and new clients • To be enthusiastic and driven, with a proven track record in operational project management; • To be a great team player with excellent IT, data analysis/management and problem-solving skills; • Excellent staff, customer and stakeholder relationship management skills • Negotiating and concluding transactions and organic projects with clients and partners • Effectively leading or supporting strategic studies, investigating marketplaces & industry trends • Represent the organisation in making and developing key contacts with businesses • Investigating markets of interest before undertaking economic, technical and financial analysis • Contribution to the operations and growth of the company as a member of the UK leadership team • Preparing and undertaking a thorough hand-over to operational colleagues once each contract is awarded. Required: • Ability to ‘listen’ and understand client needs • Positive mental attitude • Ability to generate a ‘solution’ to the Clients expressed needs • Highly numerate and computer literate. • Must have the ability to interpret, manage and present information in an innovative manner • Be commercially aware with total commitment to customer service and development • Good communication, organisational and analytical skills • Neat and professional presentation • Flexible approach to working hours and location • Ability to work to deadlines and project manage the bid process • Ability to work alone and as team • Demonstrate professional development (e.g. chartered status of CIWM or Environmental Management) • Project Management – Prince 2 or similiar
