FONCTIONS

We are currently recruiting a Controlling Manager to be based in their plant in Saint-Vulbas, close to Lyon (France). The Controlling Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, controlling, and governance aspects within the factory producing fast-moving consumer goods in the personal care and home care industry. Reporting directly to the Plant Director, this role will collaborate closely with various departments including Human Resources, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to ensure compliance with financial regulations, optimize operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. The Controlling Manager will support corporate tasks, insuring proper local execution of corporate policies and reporting. As key responsibilities we can highlight the following: 1. Lead the financial planning and budgeting process for the plant, including the development of annual budgets and forecasts. 2. Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and providing insights to management. 3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. 4. Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement cost control measures and improve profitability. 5. Oversee inventory management processes, including inventory valuation, reconciliation, and analysis of inventory levels. 6. Manage capital expenditure projects, evaluating investment proposals and tracking project costs to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints. 7. Support compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls, liaising with internal and external auditors, as necessary. 8. Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives, including product launches, capacity expansions, and process improvements. 9. Support the Plant Director and the management team in strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and recommendations. 10. Mentor and develop controlling team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. 11. Other issues requiring immediate action and/or ordered by the superior. Our ideal candidate will be: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or any other related field. • Experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost control techniques. • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and ERP systems; experience with SAP is a plus. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. • French and English proficiency.
