FONCTIONS

Our client, a global industry leader in the renewable energy sector, is looking for a HEAD OF NETWORKS (m/f/d) to join their team in Berlin. This is a key role within the Onshore Renewables Business, delivering large-scale onshore wind and solar projects in Germany. You will… • Be responsible for the delivery of the Grid Connection projects (Substation, Overhead Line, High Voltage Underground Cables, Switching centers, etc.) including project management, tendering, negotiating with contractors, and managing engineering and construction services contracts. • Plan, implement, monitor and control the delivery of tasks associated with Grid and Networks connections, while following the company and business engineering standards and technical acceptance criteria. • Ensure that quality, best practices and excellent H&SE performance are applied. • Take the lead managing the portfolio of projects and the communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, such as contractors, suppliers, DSO´s and TSO´s, and local authorities for the Networks Transmission infrastructures (Substation and Export Power Lines). • Be an expert in the construction of Networks infrastructure, able to manage the Networks construction phase and make decisions from a Construction perspective across the onshore project portfolio. • Ensure the constructability of the engineering design. • Manage teams working at different project locations as well as contractors. • Work as part of a global business which may require travel to various locations across Germany and abroad. You have… • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - you are a proactive person, a leader and motivator. • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline. • Solid background in the energy industry, in Network and Grid connection engineering and construction, and construction and commissioning of substations and transmission lines projects. • Postgraduate experience in a relevant field (transmission, onshore wind / solar preferable), and in Control and Protection, SCADA and communications commissioning. • Knowledge in Electrical System Studies, Electrical Design, substation design, main equipment specifications (transformers, STATCOM, filters, HV / MV switchgear) and Grid Compliance of wind / solar projects. • Knowledge of HSE legislation and of onshore renewables procedures, standards and guidance. • The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional groups in a fast-paced environment. • Experience in managing highly skilled teams and contractors. • Business fluent German and English; Spanish and other languages are a plus. • Flexibility to travel around Germany and Europe.
