The Finance Manager will lead the local finance team and maintain the overview at a regional level (DACH + other countries) in order to ensure synergies between the different teams & environments, adequate interaction with the group’s strategy and its goals, and compliance with local accounting and tax regulations. The Finance Manager will aim to be the finance business partner within the local management team by contributing to and participating in the decision-making process through business analysis.
The role’s strategic focus is to implement and develop, together with the group, cutting-edge procedures, processes and technologies to manage the Finance department in a growing and increasingly international business. Further, to establish a visible role for Finance within the business and optimize the added-value by being a source of relevant and high-quality data for both corporate and local decision-making.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage, coach and develop the local finance team members (5 people).
- Ensure a correct and timely closing of the books.
- Define best practices and standardize/streamline the closing process in coordination with the group.
- Investigate the possibilities to integrate new tools and technologies in order to improve the efficiency of the accounting department (automate/digitalize).
- Ensure compliance with both local regulations and group requirements.
- First point of contact for the audit teams and coordinator of all local external audits
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting so that relevant & added-value information is provided to facilitate (and participate in) the group’s decision-making process.
- Responsible for the local coordination and operational execution of tax-related requests.
- Maintain control over the functioning of SAP, investigate possibilities for further improvement and implement.
- Implement group finance projects.
- Identify financial (incl. tax and legal) risks & opportunities.
Your profile:
- Ideally a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or Economics.
- Successful experience as Accounting Manager or in a similar position as Finance Manager.
- Experience in working in complex and international environments.
- Experience in managing small to medium teams as well as project management.
- Deep business understanding, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated skills in financial accounting (solid knowledge of German GAAP is a must, knowledge of IFRS is a plus).
- Knowledge of local Company & Tax law.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills in German and English.
- Business oriented, dynamic, proactive, flexible, and knows how to drive change.
- Hands-on, able to prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communicator able to establish relationships at different levels of the company.
- Coacher, team-player and solution-oriented.
