FUNCIONES
The Trade Compliance & Transportation Manager is responsible for ensuring company & operations comply with all relevant trade regulations, while also managing inbound/transfer transportation and logistics effectively. This position works closely with numerous internal departments and many external partners including but not limited to vendors, contract manufacturers, freight forwarders, brokers, and warehouses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trade Compliance
- Understand international trade regulations. Ensure businesses comply with the requirement when importing and exporting goods, particularly in Beauty industry
- Stay informed about changing business needs and perform due iligence. Have knowledge of HS codes classifications, able to analyze and optimize duties, tariffs, and trade agreements to minimize costs, mitigate risks while ensuring compliance
- Review and reconcile customs forms (such as CADs, 7501s, etc.) to make sure duties and tariffs are calculated accurately
- Have knowledge of duty drawbacks, able to work with internal and external parties to manage drawbacks for different purposes
Sales & Operations Planning
- Support the Supply Management and work with vendors and suppliers globally
- Provide transparency of freight forwarder and transportation partners’ performance including rates, transit time, and reliability per each trade lane
- Able to identify inbound risks and opportunities with effective mitigation and execution plans
- Work cross functionally with fulfillment, finance, inventory management, sales and marketing International and Domestic Logistics
- Collaborate with Supply Planning, Procurement, Vendors, 3PLs and freight forwarders to manage movement of components and finished goods domestically via truck and internationally via ocean and air
- Able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders without restrictions of time difference and regions
- Understand and optimize freight routings and processes to improve speed, reliability, and cost
- Work with customs brokers, freight partners and 3PL partners to ensure the shipments are booked, shipped, cleared and delivered in a timely manner
- Own documentation and record keeping for all shipments
Systems and Integrations
- Manage and record all transactions in ERP timely and accurately
- Feel comfortable tracking shipments manually to reflect milestones of the movements
- Use freight partners’ portals to obtain information and updates
- Work with 3PL partners and IT teams to identify opportunities for automation and integrations
- Prepare and enable an effective transition from existing ERP into new ERP
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Minimum of 5 Years in Logistics Management.
- Experience in the beauty industry
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business, logistics, supply chain management or similar degree
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical organizational decision making and presentation skills
