FUNCTIONS
An international leader in the agri-food sector is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee the production and day-to-day operations of its nurseries in the United States, with sites located in both Northern and Southern California. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage production operations across both sites, ensuring business continuity, efficiency, and product quality. Oversee full P&L management, including planning, budgeting, and cost control. Develop, align, and empower local management teams, driving performance and adherence to global strategy. Manage a large and seasonal workforce, ensuring smooth operations during peak periods. Implement process improvement initiatives across agricultural and logistics operations, enhancing efficiency and sustainability. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Report operational performance and strategic insights to senior management, contributing to the company’s growth and long-term objectives in the U.S. Candidate Profile Technical background, preferably in Agricultural Engineering or a related field. Proven track record in large-scale agricultural operations (open field). Strong experience in P&L management, planning, and cost control. Demonstrated ability to lead large, multicultural teams, including a significant seasonal workforce. International experience and background in nurseries, seed production, or intensive crops will be highly valued. Fluent English (C1-C2 level), both technical and managerial. Spanish is a strong asset due to regular interaction with global teams.
